Historic event plays host to IFBB Pro League bodybuilding and figure superstars in Mumbai, India
On September 24-25 the biggest names in the sport of bodybuilding and figure will take part in a history-making event as the IFBB Pro League holds it’s first-ever competition in Asia, the 2011 Sheru Classic Asian Grand Prix Pro Bodybuilding & Figure Championships.
One week after the 2011 Mr. Olympia, Jay Cutler, Phil Heath, Kai Greene and Branch Warren will go toe-to-toe once again as promoter Sheru Aangrish treats bodybuilding fans in India to one of the biggest events of the 2011 season! In addition, the best in the sport of figure – headlined by 2009 Figure Olympia and two-time Figure International winner Nicole Wilkins and 2010 Figure Olympia winner Erin Stern – will make their way to Mumbai for this five-star contest.
“Thanks to the support of IFBB Pro League Chairman Jim Manion and the Weider organization, fans [in India] will get a firsthand look at the greatest bodybuilders in the world,” said promoter and IFBB Pro Aangrish.
FLEX Magazine has signed on as the exclusive all-access media sponsor of the historic event. The only media outlet with access to the entire event, Flexonline.com will provide up-to-the minute galleries and videos of the IFBB Pro League superstars before, during and after the competition.

The Sheru Classic will be held in the heart of Bollywood at the Taj Lands End Hotel, a five-star seaside resort in Mumbai. The event will kick off with press conference on September 24, with the main events to be held the following day on September 25. Total prize money for the event will be $150,000, making it the third-highest purse of the year behind only the Olympia and Arnold Classic.
After the contest, Aangrish will host an afterparty with many of the IFBB pros and Bollywood celebrities in attendance. “It will be a dream come true for the fans and the beginning of a new era for the sport of bodybuilding in my country,” Aangrish said.
